EWF Experience Brings Earth, Wind & Fire's Legacy to Sweden – Two Exclusive Concerts in Spring 2027

Spring 2027 promises a rare musical event for Swedish concertgoers when EWF Experience – an ensemble that preserves and further develops the legacy of Earth, Wind & Fire – takes the stage for two exclusive performances. The concerts will take place on April 22 at Cirkus in Stockholm and April 24 at Jacy’z Big Stage in Gothenburg. 

A Living Legacy of Funk and Soul

EWF Experience is not a tribute band but a living musical extension of Earth, Wind & Fire’s distinctive history. The ensemble consists of musicians with deep ties to the original group’s groundbreaking energy, sound, and spirit. Their authenticity is rooted in Al McKay’s long service as guitarist and composer for Earth, Wind & Fire between 1973 and 1981, during which he was behind immortal songs such as “September” and “Sing a Song.” Although McKay no longer leads the band, EWF Experience’s expression and musicality are heavily influenced by his artistic legacy.

The band is now led by singer and bandleader Tim Owens, whose connection to the EWF sphere stretches back to the early 2000s. Owens manages both musical precision and emotional presence on stage, in a spirit shaped by lessons learned from McKay. At his side stands Ben Dowling, musical director, responsible for the arrangements and the band’s interplay at the highest level.

EWF Experience distinguishes itself through a line-up filled with experience and musical range. Many band members have played together for over two decades, creating an intuitive interaction that elevates the live experience. In addition to the heritage from Earth, Wind & Fire, individual members boast collaborations with global icons such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga on their resumes. This impressive background promises concerts where nostalgia is combined with vitality and a contemporary funk and soul flair.
