Mi von Ahn releases dreamy single "Yet All Drifts" and announces new album "Delta Veins" for November

On September 18, Mi von Ahn returns with the suggestive single "Yet All Drifts" – a track that draws its energy from a dreamlike state, centering thematically on inner transformation and acceptance. Von Ahn is inspired by the subtle yet relentless power of change, creating a song that encourages letting go of resistance, both in lyrics and mood.

"Yet All Drifts" is characterized by sweeping guitars, rich layers, and textures that flirt with shoegaze and trip hop. The sound recalls influences from Kurt Vile, Radiohead, Slowdive, and Portishead, but the song forges its own identity by foregoing the traditional verse–chorus structure, instead living its own life – organic and constantly changing. The result is both intimate and expansive: the surface appears calm, while the music carries an underlying, restless movement driving it forward.

The new single also marks Mi von Ahn's creative leap ahead of her third album "Delta Veins", which will be released on November 6. The album is written and produced together with Martin Hederos (The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Tonbruket) and Anton Sundell (Ane Brun), and represents a strong and new chapter in von Ahn's artistic journey. At its core is the image of the Rapaädno – the winding river in Sarek – as a symbol for organic, unstoppable change; a force that is always at work beneath the surface, silently reshaping the landscape.

Throughout "Delta Veins", themes such as transition, displacement, and the search for new directions are woven into the music and lyrics. The tracks oscillate between melodic, sweeping indie rock, shimmering with trip hop and shoegaze textures. The music reinforces the sense of a world in flux, where contained energy is finally released.

A distinctive feature of the album is its multilingualism: for the first time, Mi von Ahn uses lyrics in English, Swedish, and even elements of Sami. This reflects the complexity of transformation, unfolding as naturally as the branches of a river delta spreading out and choosing their course without limitation.

Clash Magazine has described her previous music as "driving, stirring and moving" and drawn parallels to The War on Drugs, while Västerbottens-Kuriren has noted influences from Fleetwood Mac and Amanda Bergman – but emphasized von Ahn's distinctive voice.

She has also toured as support for notable artists such as The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Ane Brun, Loney Dear, and Christian Kjellvander – experiences that clearly contribute to the mature radiance in her new work.
