Josefin Öhrn presents her intimate debut album 'Cherry' with star-studded collaborations

The London-based Swedish singer-songwriter Josefin Öhrn takes a decisive step in her career with her debut album Cherry, due for release on September 25, 2026. Previously known as the powerful frontwoman of the Grammis-nominated Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation, Öhrn now offers her most personal and introspective work to date. Here, psychedelic influences, melodic pop, and vulnerability in lyrics and expression intertwine.

A new chapter featuring renowned guest artists

Cherry forms an impressive collaborative landscape with some of alternative music's most influential profiles. Bobby Gillespie (Primal Scream) appears with vocals on the dreamy track "Electrified," capturing the euphoria of being in love. Anton Newcombe (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) features on "Lose Yourself," contributing to a captivating dream pop landscape. Björn Yttling (Lykke Li and Peter Bjorn and John) adds playful synths to the sunny pop song "Dreaming of You." Andy Bell (Ride) also appears on the album.

The production is by Kalle Jerneholm Gustavsson from The Soundtrack of Our Lives, and the recording took place at Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg. Josefin lived and worked in the legendary studio, giving the album a presence and immediacy rooted in her own experiences.

According to Öhrn, the creative process began in reflective fragments that eventually formed a transformative and personal document—a tale of new chapters, loss, and awakening.
