Andi Almqvist Presents Seventh Album 'We’re All Gonna Die But I Can Live With That' and Announces Fall 2026 Tour

With a captivating voice and lyrics that explore the darkest corners of existence, Swedish singer, poet, songwriter, and illustrator Andi Almqvist is once again in the spotlight with his seventh solo album, ‘We’re All Gonna Die But I Can Live With That’. The album will be released on September 24, 2026 via Ella Ruth Institutet and is described as Almqvist’s strangest and most well-produced work to date – where dystopian themes intertwine with a dark humor reminiscent of Malevich's legendary black square.

Almqvist's signature cinematic expression, evident from previous albums and stage performances, has taken new creative steps with this release. The album was born out of an unexpected meeting after a show in Halden, Norway, where producer and multi-instrumentalist Freddy Holm invited Almqvist to his studio. The meeting led to a close collaboration forming the foundation for the album's evocative soundscape.

Throughout his career, Almqvist has built a strong international presence with tours in Europe and the USA, club gigs, theater concerts, and festival appearances. His reputation as a live artist has been further solidified through collaborations with respected names such as Mark Lanegan, Woven Hand, Kaizers Orchestra, Holly Golightly, B.B. King, The Blind Boys of Alabama, and Bettye LaVette. Almqvist’s music has also been appreciated within film and TV, with his songs featured in productions including Thomas Vinterberg’s Oscar-nominated "Jakten" and the American hit series "Justified".

The album’s title track is accompanied by a striking music video directed by documentary filmmaker Magnus Gertten. The film marks Gertten’s first music video and offers a visually powerful interpretation of the album’s themes, while also highlighting Almqvist’s ability to combine pitch-black darkness with satire.

The current live band behind the album consists of some of the most seasoned musicians in the Nordics: Andi Almqvist (vocals, guitar, piano), Freddy Holm (various instruments), Bebe Risenfors (various instruments), Finn Tore Tokle (bass), and Eivind Kløverød (drums). Together, they promise bold and atmospheric interpretations of the new material on stage.
