The South African singer Tyla is back with her eagerly awaited second studio album, A*POP. The album was released today, July 24, 2026, following her self-titled debut and the expanded deluxe version TYLA+. With 14 tracks, including the acclaimed singles "Chanel", "Is It", "She Did It Again" and "Is It Love", A*POP showcases Tyla's strong position in the pop world and within afrobeats.

The release comes after a particularly successful year for Tyla, who became a double Grammy winner when she earlier in 2026 won the award for "Push 2 Start" in the category Best African Music Performance. The new album is not only a creative step forward, but also symbolizes the next phase in her rapidly growing global career, with more than a year's work behind its production.

International Performances and Unique Fan Presence

In conjunction with the album release, Tyla took the stage as the headline act at The Today Show’s Citi Summerstage in New York. She is also scheduled as the headliner for the halftime show at the AT&T WNBA All-Star Game 2026 in Chicago. This makes her the first international artist to take on this role in the event’s 28-year history, further cementing Tyla’s growing influence on the American music and entertainment scene.

Ahead of the album release, devoted fans were invited to exclusive listening events in collaboration with YouTube in London, Atlanta, and New York. Here, they experienced the album together with Tyla herself in attendance. Tyla has also collaborated with Vevo for a live performance of "Is It Love", with more performances from the same concept expected to be released in the future.

The week of the launch was marked by extra close contact with fans when Tyla presented her own Bratz doll – a move that links her musical identity with pop culture trends. The build-up to the album was also characterized by a colorful presentation of the tracklist on Instagram, where the titles were displayed in neon colors a week before the release.

The marketing for A*POP began with the music video for "Chanel", where both the album title was introduced and the video quickly reached over 140 million views according to official press information.

Collaborations have become a hallmark of Tyla. The track "She Did It Again", featuring Swedish pop star Zara Larsson, became Tyla’s fourth entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and ranked on more than seven international top charts. The song was also a hit on TikTok, where hundreds of thousands of clips have been inspired by Tyla and Larsson’s energy.

The single "Is It Love" reached the top spot on the Billboard chart for US Afrobeats – Tyla’s fourth single to top this chart. These successes reinforce her role as an ambassador for African pop and international musical collaborations.

Off stage, Tyla has attracted attention for her bold fashion choices, including a peacock-inspired dress from Valentino at the 2026 Met Gala. She has also performed at major European festivals such as Afro Nation in Portugal and Beach, Please! in Romania, reflecting her growing global reach.

With A*POP, Tyla consolidates her position as one of her generation’s most innovative and promising voices. With afropop rhythms, global collaborations, and an ambitious presence on live stages worldwide, the album marks not only a return but also a new chapter in Tyla’s international success story.
