Mumle Celebrates Authenticity at Grøn Odense 2026 – Performs Without Makeup for Pærfekt

When singer Mumle, whose real name is Julia Kathrine Hansen, took to the NOVA stage at 15:25 on July 24, 2026, during the Grøn tour stop in Odense, she chose an expression that immediately captured the festival audience’s attention: without makeup and in simple everyday clothes. Her decision was a clear statement in support of the Muskelsvindfonden initiative Pærfekt – a project that seeks to challenge the culture of perfection and highlight the importance of authenticity and self-respect.

A Stand Against Perfectionism

Mumle’s initiative grew out of her own experiences of feeling the pressure from society’s beauty ideals. By appearing on one of Denmark’s largest festival stages as herself, without the usual stage makeup and attire, she sent a powerful message: self-acceptance is not about living up to unrealistic ideals. Especially for young women, she wanted to show that self-esteem does not require hiding one’s flaws. Through her personal stance at Grøn, she encouraged the audience to embrace who they are – with all their sides.

The Muskelsvindfonden project Pærfekt aims to challenge entrenched notions about how one should look or behave to feel good enough. The spelling with 'æ' in Pærfekt indicates that no one needs to be perfect – everyone is good enough just as they are. The project combats the fear of mistakes and the stress around living flawlessly, something evident in Mumle’s stage performance and message on this day.

Simon Toftgaard Jespersen, chairman of Muskelsvindfonden, emphasized the significance of Mumle’s choice. At a time when appearance fixation and achievement put great pressure on young people, Jespersen believes it carries real weight when an artist dares to choose authenticity over perfection. He hopes that Mumle’s actions will help continue the conversation about self-image and acceptance among festival goers and set new role models for how to view oneself and others.

Mumle’s performance in Odense marked the start of a record year for Grøn. The festival, which for over forty years has brought together people of all ages and backgrounds through a collaboration between Tuborg and Muskelsvindfonden, reached a new record in 2026: all 203,500 tickets sold out in under a week. Around 34,000 visitors filled Dyrskuepladsen at the sixth tour stop, highlighting the strong support both for the festival and its social engagement.

The Grøn tour 2026 consists of the following sold-out dates and locations:

  • July 16: Tårnby, Øresundsparken
  • July 17: Kolding, Seest Idrætspark
  • July 18: Aarhus, Marienlystvej
  • July 19: Aalborg, Trekanten
  • July 23: Esbjerg, Veldbækvej
  • July 24: Odense, Dyrskuepladsen
  • July 25: Næstved, Holsted Allé
  • July 26: Valby, Valbyparken

More information about events, ticket resales and the project can be found at groenkoncert.dk. The surplus from Grøn goes to Muskelsvindfonden’s work for people with muscular diseases, as well as to research and inclusive initiatives.

Mumle’s appearance in Odense became a visible testament to what personal strength and authenticity can mean on a public stage. By moving past the surface and performing as herself, she contributed to the Grøn festival’s long tradition of promoting acceptance, diversity, and community – and reminded a sold-out audience that no one should ever feel wrong for simply being themselves.
