Fryshuset Sessions at Gröna Lund: Highlighting Young Music Creation on September 5, 2026
On the evening of September 5, 2026, Gröna Lund’s Lilla Scen will be transformed into a tribute to young music creation as Fryshuset Sessions takes over. The event is a collaboration between Fryshuset, Gröna Lund, and Spotify, and highlights how music can serve as a force for youth development and creative expression.
A Nationwide Gathering of New Voices
Fryshuset Sessions brings together 39 young artists and bands from all over Sweden, with representatives from, among others, Hammarby Sjöstad, Nacka, Järva, Göteborg, Malmö, and Helsingborg. The evening will offer a broad palette of music styles, from pop, rock, and EDM to afrobeat, indie pop, reggae, R&B, and hip hop – reflecting both Sweden’s vibrant youth scene and Fryshuset’s inclusive vision.
The participating acts come from Fryshuset’s wide-ranging music programs, which across the country develop young musicians’ talent and drive. Fryshuset Sessions is a clear example of the organization’s purposeful efforts to provide young creators with real opportunities and experience, as songwriters, producers, performing artists, and future industry personalities.
One of the evening’s artists is Dido Kakooza (DeDido), who expresses great enthusiasm about performing on Gröna Lund’s stage. For many of the participants, the opportunity to play at this iconic venue means a dream come true and the chance to meet a live audience on the same stage where well-known names have performed over the years.
The event runs from 6:00 PM to approximately 10:00 PM, offering four hours of new, inspiring musical experiences. The audience can look forward to a varied and energetic program reflecting the diversity of Fryshuset’s music community.
Fryshuset Sessions is much more than a regular concert – it is living proof of the transformative power of music education and mentorship. The three-year collaboration between Fryshuset and Spotify is designed to support young people in everything from songwriting and production to release and industry knowledge. By providing this type of platform, both creative self-confidence and the skills required for future success are developed.
Getting on such a well-known stage is a recurring dream for many young musicians, and thus the evening’s opportunity carries special meaning. The direct contact with the audience and the experience of live performance are crucial steps in artistic development and something that cannot be replaced in the rehearsal room.
Fryshuset’s work within music and culture is tied to the ambition to strengthen young people’s self-confidence, creative joy, and faith in the future. With events like Fryshuset Sessions, an important bridge is built between creative environments and the larger public, where participants’ education is transformed into memorable real-life experiences.
As the event approaches, expectations are rising for an evening that not only puts young talents in the spotlight but also inspires the next generation of Swedish musicians and music lovers.
