The singer-songwriter AunA makes a powerful entrance onto the pop scene with her emotionally charged single release “Crying”, which came out on 4 September 2026. The song has grown out of the raw emotions of a friend's breakup, where bonds of friendship are torn apart and the narrative of the relationship is shaped by the one who created the most drama. As the first single from her debut album “With Lahti”, to be released on 21 November 2026, “Crying” marks an artist unafraid to be both experimental and authentically genuine.

Musically, “Crying” is a modern interpretation of singer-songwriter pop, where driving drums, vibrant electric guitars, and dense vocal layers create an expressive soundscape. Beneath the surface, there are subtle production details: reversed vocals, delayed harmonies, and melodies that emerged spontaneously in the studio. Together with producers Fabian Maruri and Jonatan Lahti, AunA has chosen to retain the spontaneous and sometimes imperfect elements — such as a second verse melody recorded in the moment, expanded choruses through vocal doubling, and a production where feeling is prioritized over polished perfection.

This approach also permeates AunA’s artistic philosophy. She actively distances herself from conventional beauty standards, does not use makeup, avoids retouching images, and abstains from alcohol. Her stance is a counter-reaction to the constant pursuit of perfection and superficiality in today's music industry. Instead, she emphasizes the importance of honesty and an organic connection between artist, music, and audience — an attitude that makes the music both genuine and relatable.

Behind this strong voice is also an openness to self-doubt. AunA shares that she has never seen herself as a perfectionist, partly due to insecurity and a lack of patience. In that realization there is a humility about the fact that many artists struggle with waiting for validation and sometimes worry about being seen as outsiders in their own world. This emotional transparency shapes the songwriting and makes “Crying” both a tale of heartbreak and a depiction of the struggle to find one’s place and voice.

Listeners will have the chance to experience AunA live at the renowned festival Live at Heart in Örebro on 4–5 September 2026. At these concerts, she offers a personal gesture: specially designed tissues with the imprint “to wipe your tears while you’re crying”, which deepens the connection between artist and audience and invites sharing the music as both pain and healing.

Ahead of the much-anticipated debut album “With Lahti”, “Crying” offers a vivid insight into AunA’s creative world — where honesty takes precedence over perfection and life’s scars form the foundation for her musical expression.
