Finger Eleven has released a maxi-single built around “Last Night On Earth” and is inviting listeners to create their own interpretations. The four versions provide participants with material to work with, offering space to add lyrics, change the arrangement, or work within the song's existing structure. A music video for the track has also been released.
Singer Scott Anderson says the band has long liked the idea of making the song into a duet. Artists can participate by posting their versions on social media with the hashtag #F11LastNightDuet and giving their own musical touch to the recording.
The single precedes a deluxe edition of the album with 18 tracks, which will be released on November 6 via Better Noise Music. The original came out last year and was the Canadian band’s first full-length studio album in a decade. The group has achieved multi-platinum status during their career.
The expanded track list features a collaboration with Filter on “Blue Sky Mystery” as well as “Bones and Joints II.” Among the live recordings are “Living In A Dream” and acoustic versions of “First Time” and “One Thing,” both recorded at B Town Sound. Two demo versions of the title track, labeled DEMO 3 and DEMO 7, along with an instrumental version round out the extras.
The album’s other tracks are “Adrenaline,” “Cold Concrete,” “Lock Me Up,” “The Mountain,” “Perfect Effigy,” “Wall Dogs,” “Laughing at the Storm,” and “Body and Mind.”
The band is also heading out on a UK tour with SOiL, covering twelve concerts starting October 30. An extensive Canadian tour is planned for next year.
Other members are lead guitarist James Black, rhythm guitarist Rick Jackett, bassist Sean Anderson, and drummer Steve Molella.
