Ane Brun announces Nordic tour and her first studio album in six years

21. oktober 2026

Ane Brun will follow up her new studio album, I Thought We Were The Same, with a 15-date tour across the Nordics. The concerts will take place in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland, from Luleå in the north to Kristiansand in the south.

The album will be released on November 6, 2026 and will be Brun's first studio album with new material in six years. The songs revolve around trust and betrayal, both in personal relationships and in a broader, contemporary world marked by artificial intelligence, deepfakes, and geopolitical instability. The record comes after a long period of live performances and other projects since her last studio album was released in 2020.

A career marked by musical evolution

Brun’s career began with the intimate, acoustic indie-folk on her debut album Spending Time With Morgan. For more than two decades, she has moved far beyond her early sound, exploring orchestral pop, electronic tones, emotionally direct interpretations, and stripped-down, piano-based songwriting. Through these musical shifts, her expression has remained characterized by a personal presence.

Brun has a strong position in both Sweden and Norway, the two countries she calls home. Among her accolades are two Swedish Grammis awards, for Alternative Pop of the Year and Composer of the Year, as well as several Norwegian Spellemannpriser. Her ability to move between different musical forms has become a hallmark of a catalog that defies being limited to a single genre.

Her most recent studio albums were released in 2020, when Brun put out both After The Great Storm and How Beauty Holds The Hand Of Sorrow. Since then, she has toured extensively, played at festivals, and completed two European tours. The latest, in 2023, commemorated the 20th anniversary of her career.

Among other projects are two seasons of 12 Songs at Göteborgsoperan, where choreographer Kenneth Kvarnström reinterpreted her music with the opera’s orchestra and dance company. Brun has also released Nærmere, an album with Norwegian-language versions of her own songs, the collections Portrayals and Songs 2013–2023, as well as the live album 20th Anniversary Tour.

Singles from the new album include “Hand in the Fire,” “Two in this Story,” and “Hold Me,” as well as “Eat The Fruit,” a collaboration with Röyksopp. The record continues in the broader, more pop-produced direction heard on After The Great Storm, while also furthering Brun's adaptable approach to arrangements and style.
