The internationally acclaimed Mongolian rock band The HU has today released its third studio album, HUN. To celebrate, the band is also presenting the music video for "Horsemen," a tribute to Mongolia's legendary horseback warriors. With this new album, The HU marks the beginning of its most ambitious era to date, deepening the fusion between tradition and modernity in its distinctive style.

HUN is released digitally and on CD by Better Noise Music, while several vinyl editions and a collector's box will be released on September 11, 2026. The album continues the band's sophisticated fusion of ancient musical traditions and contemporary rock and metal, further refining their characteristic sonic landscape.

The spirit of the legendary riders

Coinciding with the album, the video for "Horsemen" has premiered. The song and video are inspired by Mongolia's famous riders, also known as the "Army of Heaven." The band describes the song as a tribute to the discipline, wisdom, and sense of community that made these warriors unique—qualities that also form the musical and spiritual core of the band.

Each track on the album is shaped by the ensemble's unique instrumental and vocal techniques. Galaa (morin khuur and throat singing), Jaya (tumur khuur and tsuur), Enkush (morin khuur), and Temka (tovshuur) all contribute with the renowned throat singing. The combination of traditional Mongolian instruments and modern rock has given The HU a unique position on the global metal scene.

The title HUN means "human" in Mongolian and captures the universal themes that permeate the album. The record was initially to be called “Between the Heaven and Earth,” but ultimately received a more direct title to reflect the totality of human existence. According to the band, HUN depicts different aspects of being human and encourages reflection through its varied expression and tempo.

Next level on stage and tour

Following the success of their recent North American tour, The HU continues to expand live. In August, the band will perform together with Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and Orgy in the USA before large audiences. After that, another North American tour stop awaits, before an extensive UK and European tour kicks off at the end of September 2026 – this time with Swedish Skáld as guest artists.

In conjunction with the album release, The HU is developing a new concert experience. The group is aiming for larger venues and bigger productions, as well as an expanded setlist where Mongolian culture will receive even greater attention, offering the audience a stronger and richer live experience. A natural development in the band's journey, matching the ambition behind their latest studio work.

With HUN, The HU consolidates its creative stature and has already begun work on future projects, signaling continued innovation. With their uncompromising blend of tradition, power, and authenticity, The HU continues to forge bonds with audiences worldwide—both in the studio and on stage.
