Texas will perform at K.B. Hallen in Copenhagen on November 2, 2027, as the band celebrates the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough album White On Blonde. The concert is part of a British and European tour dedicated to the record, which was released in 1997 and became one of the key releases in the group’s catalog.
When Britpop dominated the British music scene, White On Blonde established a sound influenced by soul, pop, and trip-hop, where broad melodic choruses played a major role. The album went straight to number one in the UK, has since sold six times platinum, and spawned five UK top 10 singles. One of these was “Say What You Want,” a track still strongly associated with Texas.
An Important Album and a New Song
The anniversary also coincides with new music. Texas’s single “Another Way To Cry” is described as inspired by Northern Soul, with brass and strings adding color to the arrangement. The combination of a strong pop melody and more dramatic instrumental touches ties the new song to qualities that have long characterized the band’s music.
The video for the single was filmed in the Scottish Highlands and features singer Sharleen Spiteri and actor Robert Carlyle. It pays tribute to Wim Wenders’s film Paris, Texas, which also gave the band its name. The reference links the new release to Texas’s origins and places the song in the band’s ongoing anniversary celebrations.
Texas was formed in Glasgow in 1986 and is led by Spiteri. The band has released ten albums that have reached the UK top 10. The catalog includes tracks such as “I Don’t Want A Lover,” “Halo,” “Summer Son,” “Black Eyed Boy,” “Inner Smile,” and “Say What You Want.” Over the years, the group has built a distinctive identity around Spiteri’s recognizable vocals, polished arrangements, and memorable melodies.
The show at K.B. Hallen brings Texas’s history to the stage, with a 2027 tour revolving around the album that became a key turning point for the band. White On Blonde unites the immediacy of pop songwriting with influences that set the record apart from the dominant sounds of the period. The anniversary is at the heart of the Copenhagen concert.
