Shakira's “Dai Dai” Breaks Records and Drives Change After Historic FIFA World Cup 2026

Shakira's appearance during the FIFA World Cup final 2026 marked a unique moment where music, sport, and global activism converged. On July 19, 2026, the Colombian superstar headlined the very first official halftime show ever at a FIFA Men's World Cup final, alongside Madonna, Justin Bieber, and BTS. This historic event, followed by millions of viewers worldwide, not only reinforced Shakira's lasting influence but also demonstrated her commitment to using art as a driver for social change.

Global Anthem with Historic Impact

The highlight of the show was Shakira's performance of her latest single “Dai Dai” together with Burna Boy. The song, which is the official anthem for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, has quickly cemented its place in music history. Since its release, “Dai Dai” has shot to number one on Spotify's Global Top 50, a feat repeated on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US – making it the first World Cup anthem to top these charts.

“Dai Dai” has resonated worldwide, reaching the top spot not only globally, but also in countries like France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland, South Korea, Sweden, Norway, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, and Spain. It has also placed in the top five in the United Kingdom, China, Italy, Portugal, and Canada. The music video has dominated YouTube, amassing over 400 million views in just eight weeks – and maintaining its position as the platform's most viewed during that period.

Shakira's stage outfit during the performance was as eye-catching as the show: a specially designed creation from Roberto Cavalli by Fausto Puglisi, adorned with Swarovski crystals – a nod to her long-standing collaboration with the Italian fashion house, which also dressed her at the 2010 World Cup.

The impact of “Dai Dai” extends far beyond music and video success. In collaboration with FIFA and Global Citizen, Shakira has donated all song proceeds to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. This is an ambitious initiative aiming to raise 100 million dollars to improve access to education and football for children in vulnerable parts of the world. Sony Music is matching the project's first 250,000 dollars, and to deepen her commitment, Shakira is also donating 1 dollar per ticket sold from the 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran' tour to the fund.

After her record-breaking World Cup appearance, Shakira continues her 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran' tour in the USA with shows at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center (July 20–21, 2026), UBS Arena (July 23), and Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City (July 25). Later in the year, a residency with 12 stadium concerts awaits at the specially built Shakira Stadium in Madrid. The tour has been hailed as the world’s highest-grossing international tour in 2025 and the most lucrative ever for a Latin American artist.

With a career spanning over 95 million albums sold, four GRAMMY Awards and 15 Latin GRAMMYs, Shakira is today the most streamed female Latin artist on Spotify and one of the ten most viewed artists on YouTube of all time. Her artistic drive and deep humanitarian commitment are demonstrated both through her chart success and her work for children's education and opportunities worldwide.

Shakira's iconic performance at the FIFA World Cup final 2026, along with the success of “Dai Dai”, not only cements her place in music history – it also shows the transformative power culture and artistry can have in the pursuit of a more just world.
