Militarie Gun Releases 'God Save The Gun (Deluxe)' – New Collaboration with Mannequin Pussy

The Los Angeles-based band Militarie Gun has announced the launch of 'God Save The Gun (Deluxe)', which will be released on August 7, 2026, via Loma Vista Recordings. This deluxe edition builds upon the critically acclaimed album, adding three new tracks, including the brand new single “World’s Always Burning” featuring the Philadelphia band Mannequin Pussy. The song is now available on all streaming platforms along with an impactful official music video.

The new songs on the deluxe edition took shape already during the album's original recordings, but according to vocalist Ian Shelton, developed a clearer external focus. Whereas the core album dealt with introspective themes and inner dialogue, the new tracks are about opening up and rediscovering the outside world after a lengthy period of self-reflection. Shelton describes them as a bridge between the album’s raw, internal dialogue and a broader, outward-facing theme. This provides a natural continuation of the clear trajectory of development that the band now presents.

'God Save The Gun (Deluxe)' follows an intense year of live performances for Militarie Gun. The band has recently delivered energetic shows in the Elevator Music series as well as on NPR’s acclaimed Tiny Desk format, where they performed stripped-down versions of songs from across their discography. The tracks “B A D I D E A,” “Kick,” “God Owes Me Money,” “Thought You Were Waving,” and “Throw Me Away” stood out during these performances, further demonstrating the band’s powerful live presence.

After headlining in Europe, the band now faces an extensive North American tour: 20 Songs for 20 Dollars. The tour encompasses 27 dates, starting in Oklahoma City in September 2026 and concluding with a hometown show in Los Angeles on October 15, 2026. The itinerary includes stops in Austin, Miami, Nashville, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, and Vancouver. Support acts for selected dates are Softcult, Shady Nasty, and Dazy. Militarie Gun will also appear at the CBGB Festival in New York in September and will open for the legendary Sex Pistols during several West Coast shows in October 2026.

The latest developments follow the release of the original version of 'God Save The Gun' in October 2025. The album was praised for its sharp songwriting and deep thematic content, with tracks like “God Owes Me Money” named BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record in the World, along with “B A D I D E A” and “Throw Me Away.” Publications Highsnobiety and SPIN Magazine have especially highlighted vocalist Ian Shelton’s songwriting and depicted the album’s honest engagement with themes like abuse and addiction, both in the lyrics and the album-wide narrative.

'God Save The Gun (Deluxe)' marks another step in Militarie Gun’s development, as the band opens up to new perspectives and collaborations while cementing their influential legacy. With new songs, prominent performances, and an upcoming tour, 2026 is shaping up to be a defining year for the group.
