Charli XCX Presents Her Seventh Studio Album "Music, Fashion, Film"
Charli XCX cements her position as a global pop icon with the release of her eagerly awaited seventh studio album, "Music, Fashion, Film". Following the enormous success of her previous album "Brat," Charli sharpens her bold creative vision, inspired by her own passions for music, fashion, and film.
The album release is accompanied by the premiere of the music video for the lead track "Camera," featuring acclaimed French actor Vincent Cassel. This visual collaboration underscores Charli's intent to create expressive and artistically ambitious pop cultural moments. In the work on the album's sound, Charli has continued her long-running collaboration with A. G. Cook and Finn Keane – a creative trio known for pushing the boundaries of modern pop music.
The first single "Rock Music" set the tone for the album's launch and stood out with its experimental sounds and captivating hooks. The subsequent pre-releases "SS26" and "Wink Wink" broadened the project's sonic landscape and hinted at the diversity and ambition that characterize the entire album.
"Music, Fashion, Film" also stands out visually. Photographer Aidan Zamiri is behind the striking cover, which features portraits of three legendary names: John Cale, Marc Jacobs, and Martin Scorsese. They each represent one theme from the album title – Cale for music, Jacobs for fashion, and Scorsese for film. This symbolic collection strengthens Charli's perspective on these art forms as fundamental elements, essential for her identity and survival as a pop artist.
Charli XCX’s path to international stardom took off with the breakthrough hit "Boom Clap" from 2014, which has now amassed nearly 1.5 billion global streams. With the album "Brat" and hits like "Guess" (with Billie Eilish), "Von Dutch", "360" and "Apple," she elevated her unique sound to new heights and captured a growing world audience.
Known for her fearless willingness to reinvent artistically, Charli has become one of the most influential voices in contemporary pop. She often combines broad commercial appeal with avant-garde expression and readily collaborates with various creators to challenge and renew today’s pop music and visual culture.
Charli’s innovative spirit has earned her recognition from both audiences and critics. At the BRIT Awards 2025, she won five major awards, including Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year. Throughout her career she has also been nominated for Grammy Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and American Music Awards – proof of her widely recognized impact.
Charli XCX will take “Music, Fashion, Film” on the road in North America this fall. The announcement follows her acclaimed performance at the Flow Festival in Finland, where she impressed with her strong stage presence.
With "Music, Fashion, Film" Charli XCX cements her place at the heart of pop. Her constant drive to experiment and ability to both draw inspiration from and contribute to the worlds of music, fashion, and film demonstrate her endurance and significance as one of her generation’s most influential artists.
