GERD - New Music That Gave Goosebumps and Leaves You Wanting More

Elin Lundgren, better known as the artist GERD, is no newcomer. She was already acclaimed in 2021 when her debut single "Lies for a Liar" was released. In 2023, she was named Future Artist at the P3 Guld Awards. She released her debut album "Meet Me In The Blue" already in 2024, and tomorrow, Friday, September 25, 2026, her new album "More Water Than Anything" will be released. She is known for her emotional pop and personal lyrics.

GERD opens the evening with "Truth To Be Told", which is about a relationship coming undone. When trust is damaged and a feeling of uncertainty spreads through your body. What happens to you when you no longer feel seen and loved in the same way as before? The lyrics move between doubt, a longing for honesty, and the experience of losing oneself. It is a powerful song and you can feel the pain in the narrative voice.

GERD has herself described the song "Love Economy" which appears on the new album. She talks about how the sides of oneself that are less advantageous and that you prefer not to show are also a part of you – and can also bring something positive.

Before the next song, GERD thanks everyone who came and for the support she has received. She also speaks about how it is not always easy to write about difficult and personal things – "you have to dig so damn deep in yourself". She has described the new album as the most personal work she has done.

"Lonely Phone People" is an important song in many ways. The mobile phone is taking up ever more space in society and social life – but also in close relationships. The contradiction in seeking contact with your surroundings via the phone and at the same time becoming more and more lonely. In an increasingly isolated world, the longing for real contact that is physical and emotional grows. Even though we are constantly connected, the feeling of loneliness can still be present. It is a powerful song that provokes reflection. Where are we headed?

GERD's new song "Know Me Better" begins with the 60-member choir Manhem quietly entering behind the audience and singing – or rather, softly humming at first before their voices become stronger and stronger and they begin to sing together with GERD. It was incredibly majestic and powerful and at least I got goosebumps all over. I did not want the song to end. Impressive, effective, and grand.

The single "Crazy" was released this summer and is one of the songs on the new album. The song also ends the concert and the choir is part of the experience this time as well. The lyrics are about being confident in oneself and being able to be who you are without having to compromise. "To stay the night, then you need to be ready to deal with the heavy." A relationship must be able to withstand both the bright and the dark moments.

GERD sings both about feeling lost and hurt as well as regaining her self-esteem and finding herself again. It is clear that she enjoys sharing the music and the experience with her audience – and that the audience enjoys being part of it.
